Shari Minik5 StarWe built our home in Western Springs over 20 years ago. In that home we raised our three sons and daughter. But it was time…time for a new young family to move in and raise their young children in our happy place.
As you can imagine, we accumulated a lot of memories and a lot of memorabilia, a lot of stuff…from furniture to sports equipment, it was family life lived to the fullest.
We’d been thinking about downsizing for a few years and in all honesty, I dreaded moving. Not just leaving our home, but the work involved in preparing and packing your house. What to keep, what to sell, what to donate? It’s an enormous undertaking and I’d been worried about it for years.
That is where the wonderful Trish Orndorff of @Properties came into our lives.
While we kept up with most of the updates and maintenance a home requires, there were also several things we let slide as we became busy parents with busy lives. From sporting events and dance recitals to moving kids in and out college.
Trish met w us and toured the house. She gave us clear direction on what we should and shouldn’t update. She told us who to call, how to get the most from what we had to spend. Update this/don’t change that. From roof inspection to carpet changes-she had a guy.
Then, the most magical part, Trish staged our house. She came in with the most amazing team and literally transformed our tired home into a light and airy showstopper. Her team brought in pieces, rearranged things, and made it shine! We watched in awe. Our home became a showplace.
Trish guided us on a selling price with a clear and current understanding of the Western Springs market. She was honest, direct and clearly understood the real estate market.
When offers came, she contacted us immediately and was always, always available to talk and text, and able to deal w a very nervous female and a demanding male. Basically, she kept my husband calm, and kept me sane.
